Making a snowflake is really easy. All you need is some scissors, some white paper and some glitter and sequins if you want to decorate your snowflake.

Step 1.

Start with a square piece of white paper. Fold it diagonally in half and then in half again so you have a small triangle shape.

Step 2.

Fold your triangle into thirds. You may need help to adjust these folds a little to get the sides to match up, so don't crease the paper until the folds are just right.

When the folds are correct, cut across the bottom of your paper so it's straight.

Step 3.

Cut your folded paper so that it looks like the picture opposite, then unfold it gently to reveal your snowflake.

Step 4.

Add glitter and sequins to make your snowflake sparkle.

Try cutting different patterns to make lots of different snowflakes, then use sticky tac to fix them to the window to create lovely Christmas decorations.

Don't forget to ask an adult for help when using scissors.
